The Windsor Township is a Society of retailers, services & restaurants in Downtown Windsor, Nova Scotia, exit 6 off highway 101. Formerly known as the Windsor Business Enhancement Society (WBES), our non-profit volunteer organization supports local shops and businesses in the specific geographic area defining the downtown area of Windsor/West Hants.

About Windsor/West Hants
Windsor is a community located in Hants County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a service centre for the western part of the county and is situated on Highway 101. The community has a history dating back to its use by the Mi’kmaq Nation for several millennia prior to European colonization.

Our Mission
The Windsor Township Association provides an online directory of all storefronts in our defined geographic area of downtown Windsor, free of charge to those businesses.
The described boundaries are as follows: Water Street including the Windsor Waterfront, Lakeview Drive and Clifton Avenue (inclusive, meaning both sides of the street) to King Street (inclusive, meaning both sides of the street) to Wentworth Road up to and including Empire Lane to the intersection of Wiley Ave – King Street – O’Brien Street.
Recreation & Activities - Stay Active
For residents and visitors alike, recreation is one of this area’s key attractions. From canoeing to trail running, watersports to winter sports. This is the birthplace of hockey, and it’s just a few minutes’ drive to Ski Martock, where you can enjoy some of the area’s best ski and snowboard trails.
Whatever the season, you’ll find all kinds of reasons to come on out and play.

Hants Aquatic Centre
Located across from the Hants County War Memorial Community Centre (306 Stannus Street), the Hants Aquatic Centre is a heated outdoor pool providing a six-lane 25m pool, a leisure pool with a beachfront entrance for accessibility and a tot pool.
An access lift facilitates the entry and exit for those needing assistance and is remote-controlled, sturdy, and able to support up to 400 lbs.
We provide qualified lifeguards, swim instructors, lifesaving instructors and aquafit instructors who receive comprehensive training preseason and throughout the summer.
Windsor Bluefins
Hants Aquatic Centre is home to the award-winning Windsor Bluefins Summer Swim Team (a competitive club). If you love to swim and want to improve your strokes while having fun and making new friends, why not try the Bluefins this summer!

Pisiquid Canoe Club
Pisiquid was founded in 1975 by Fred and Karen Lynch and ever since it has provided canoe and kayak fun to Windsor and West Hants. We have summer day-camps, year-round competitive training, and competitive and recreational adult programs.

Windsor Curling Club
The Windsor Curling Club is open from November through March, and welcomes recreational, social, and competitive curlers of all ages, offering daytime and evening leagues for all skill levels. Their leagues and events include:

Community Centre
The Community Centre is available to residents. It includes an indoor basketball court that also serves as a community hall available for rent to community groups. It houses the local Lions Club as well as children’s summer day camps.


Windsor Skate Park
The Skatepark has a four stair set with a hubba ledge/rail combo, 2 ft high china bank-style slappy wall, 4 ft quarter pipe and a transitional flat bank. The total area is about 3,000 sqft. The Waterfront Skatepark is located adjacent to the bandstand in Waterfront Park in Windsor.


Windsor Waterside Park
Also known as the Windsor Waterfront, includes outdoor exercise equipment, gazebo, skate park, outdoor basketball courts, trail and floating docks. Live music is offered on Fridays throughout the summer.

Elmcroft Park & Playground
Elmcroft Park and Playground is right behind the Hants Aquatic Centre, and across the street from the Community Centre.
A green space in the middle of the Township, it features children’s play structures, a picnic area, and a beach volleyball area.

Victoria Park
Located beside the Windsor Community Centre, Victoria Park is home to the Windsor War Memorial. Near the memorial is a beautiful gazebo that acts as a bandstand for inspiring artists and many other uses.
The park is also home to the Avon Community Farmers’ Market.
